Happy Thanksgiving! This year, we opted for a low-key Thanksgiving meal. For dessert, we decided to try the frozen Pumpkin Pie ($4.99) from Trader Joe’s.
It is super easy to prepare. You just let it defrost on the counter for 2 hours, and then stick it in the oven for 15-20 minutes to warm up before eating.
It looks like a standard pumpkin pie. It’s nicely flavored, although it is a little on the sweeter side. When heated, the pie filling is super creamy – almost a little too soft for me. I liked the texture better when chilled in the fridge for a few hours post-baking. Also, I didn’t like the crust that much – it was kind of dry and salty. But, this pie isn’t a bad deal for $4.99.
On a side note, the Pilgrim Joe’s Fresh Cranberry Sauce ($3.49) was quite tasty. I like the whole cranberry pieces.
