New Cookie Flavor at Gideon Bakeshop’s Grand Reopening!

After closing their pop-up shop 7 weeks ago for remodeling, Gideon’s Bakeshop had their Grand Reopening today at their permanent home in East End Market in Winter Park, FL. Famous for their amazing quarter pound cookies, these cookies are well worth the wait.

The newly designed interior has a beautiful Victorian theme corresponding with their sweet backstory. Gideon’s Bakeshop is literally a dream come true as this cookie shop was inspired by a young boy’s diary from 1898 which was filled with his dream to create a bakery to help his impoverished family. I love the vintage appearance and all of the details – the chandeliers, the antique books, the old-fashioned picture frames…

Due to the popularity of these cookies, Gideon’s usually has a long line and they sell out quickly. Since remodeling, they have a larger space to store more cookies to prevent selling out so quickly. We got there at a good time, so we only waited about 10 minutes. Also, I tend to be indecisive so I like to have a little time to decide on what I want 🙂14593706_10104778097471223_897835424_n

In the past, I tried the Black & White cookie, the Cookies & Cream, and the Candied Walnut Chocolate Chip. Served fresh out of the oven, they were all warm and delicious. They are filled with the hope and heart of young Gideon’s dreams. I would say they were the best cookies I’ve ever had.

Gideon’s also serves cakes, but I haven’t had a chance to try them yet. They do look quite lovely though.

Single cookies are gently served in these cute old-fashioned monogrammed paper bags:

I wanted to try a new flavor today, so I got the Frankenstein cookie (perfect in time for Halloween). This is a decadent chocolate chip cookie topped generously with M&M’s and covered inside and out with crushed Double Stuf Oreos. Even the bottom of the cookie was evenly coated with crushed Oreos – which added a nice crisp.

Like always, this cookie tasted like warm, gooey deliciousness. Needless to say, there’s a lot going on…but that’s not a bad thing 🙂 It goes nicely with a hot cup of tea or a large glass of ice cold milk.

Behold the glorious cookie:

This cookie is perfect for the chocolate lover…or the cookie lover 😉 If you haven’t had one of Gideon’s cookies yet, you are missing out. These cookies do not disappoint.
